Learn about and experience glaciers up close and personal on this 3 hour glacier excursion!

Groups meet at the base of the Alyeska Resort Tramway in the beautiful Girdwood Valley. After an introduction and brief trip explanation, we ride the Tram to the Glacier Express Lodge on Mt. Alyeska (2200').

A gentle 50 minute hike leads us to glacier's edge. There, we put on over-boots, a harness and "rope up" to walk out onto the glacier itself.

This tour requires a minimum of 2 persons to operate.

Summary: MUST BE ORDERED AT LEAST ONE WEEK IN ADVANCE OF THE TOUR DATE. This tour does not include hotel pick-up or transportation to Girdwood. Guests will be required to sign a liability waiver. This tour must have a minimum of 2 participants to operate. Maximum per tour is 8 participants. No Children under 10 allowed. Please reserve online, or call us toll-free at 888-613-6033. There is a $3.95 processing fee per order. This is a flat fee regardless of the number of tickets or tours purchased on an order.
There is a service charge per ticket. This charge will be reflected on your summary before you checkout. The total shown includes any and all taxes, fuel surcharges, and service fees. There are no additional charges.

Cancellation Policy: There are no refunds. All sales are final.

Change Fee Policy: If changes are allowed on a tour or activity, a $20.00 per reservation change fee will be applied for any change to a reservation. Please note that some tours and activities do not allow any changes. Date changes can be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date. While we cannot guarantee any changes can be made, all change requests must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the tour departure and must be handled on an individual basis through our Reservations Center.

Conditions depending, all trips examine features such as bergschrunds and crevasses up close! While on the glacier, we will discuss the unique geological features specific to glaciers. For example, moats, lateral, medial and terminal moraine, firn line, nunataks, etc. will all be explained.

Trips include interpretive glaciology discussions, a small guest to guide ratio (4:1), great views of the 7 glaciers in the Girdwood bowl, a round trip Tram ticket and over-boot rentals. Please bring sturdy footwear, water, a snack, your camera and appropriate clothing.
